All Is Well

Come on Nephi?!? Did you really have to be so literal?

2 Nephi 28:21,25

21 And others will he pacify, and lull them away into carnal security, that they will say: All is well in Zion; yea, Zion prospereth, all is well—and thus the devil cheateth their souls, and leadeth them away carefully down to hell.

25 Wo be unto him that crieth: All is well!

Helaman 13:28

28 Yea, ye will lift him up, and ye will give unto him of your substance; ye will give unto him of your gold, and of your silver, and ye will clothe him with costly apparel; and because he speaketh flattering words unto you, and he saith that all is well, then ye will not find fault with him.

There are all sorts of beautiful gems in this one. Enjoy.

It is no wonder that 160 years later we still commemorate their achievement with songs, speeches, parades, fireworks, commemorative treks, pins, balloons, banners, and T-shirts.

If they were here with us today there is no doubt in my mind that they would tell us we can be gloriously happy even if our favorite TV show is cancelled, traffic comes to a crawl, the rain spoils our picnic, or the fast food worker forgot to include straws or packets of ketchup at the drive-through window.

When we cover our face with our hands and complain that someone else got the promotion, someone else got the part, someone else got the biggest slice of pizza, it might be helpful to remind ourselves that there is a difference between the profound and trivial.

  1. This, my friend, is sad to think that we as a people worry about such trivial nonsense. Can't we figure it out: "LIFE IS A TEST!" We are here to figure out how to return to God. We have so many distractions and yet somehow we have been misled to believe that if we just think we are following the prophet that somehow we will all make it safely back to heaven. NOTHING could be FARTHER from the truth. We have been told to work out (our) salvation with fear and trembling before the Lord. (Phillippians 2:12) All is NOT well unless you are sincerely bowing down before the Lord (2 Nephi 25:29). How do we miss the fact that Nephi told us we have all gone astray except a few humble followers of the Lord (2 Nephi 28:11-14). He was speaking to those of us in the Church! We are the only ones reading the book! WAKE UP!! I'll say it again: "All is NOT well in Zion" Thanks for sharing.

  2. I am glad I found this blog. I love the Tender Mercies of the Lord. He is bringing me to other fellow followers of Christ, those seeking to enter the presance of the Lord while in the flesh. This past year has been very humbling as the Lord has helped me WAKE Up.I prayed that IF I had false paradims/foolish traditions of my fathers, unbelief that he would please let me know. It is true that if ye ask will real intent you will recieve. I have and continue to ask, seek, and knock. I like the break down on Charity. The part that I did not understand or pay attention to a few years ago and needed to ponder and understand and live was; seeketh not her own.I came up with the same scriptures you quoted about all is NOT well with Zion when I was on LDS.org (around Pioneer Day) and saw that on the front. My first thought was-You have got to be kidding me. Must be a attention getter, so I read the whole article. When one realizes the Lord uses patterns and people repeat patterns or say history repeats itself there is truth to that. The Lord continues to teach me at night with Learning dreams,Where I am taught spirit to spirit. I am grateful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and for his grace and mercy!
